Dr. John Benjamin is a Sandton based cardiologist who received his University MBBCH degree at Witwatersrand University and subsequently became a Fellow of the College of Physicians of South Africa and then registered his specialty as a cardiologist. Dr. Benjamin is qualified to practice in the State of Louisiana having achieved his States Board of Medical Examiners in New Orleans.

Dr. Benjamin spent time at the Brompton Chest Hospital in London studying echocardiography, and returned to South Africa to establish the first echocardiography laboratory at the Johannesburg Hospital. He was physician in charge of cardiac catheterisation at the Johannesburg Hospital where he practiced cardiology for three years. Dr. Benjamin subsequently entered private practice and established a cardiac unit at the Morningside Clinic in Sandton.
